About Azhar Khan

I’m Azhar Khan, a self-taught full-stack engineer from Gorakhpur, India. I built my first website in 2009, before I turned 13, and I’ve shipped more than 100 projects since: client websites, web apps, an Android app, open-source libraries, SaaS products and my own businesses.

How it started

By 2010 I had a freelance page on this domain and was building sites for clients: a college CMS, a rentals listing site, an MLM web app. On the side I made my own things to learn, like a tracer that showed the operator and region of any Indian mobile number, an IPL 2011 results site, and a tutorial blog teaching PHP and MySQL.

Over the next few years the client list grew: a share-trading firm, an SEO agency, a matrimonial site, a bulk SMS web app, and a travel agency, Runway Travels, whose site I have rebuilt five times since 2013. From 2014 to 2016 I ran a small web agency, The Street Buddies, and took work on Upwork.

IIT Kanpur

In the summer of 2017, at 19, I worked as a Student Research Associate in the Electrical Engineering department at IIT Kanpur. I built the websites for the Smart City project, the RTDS lab and the Power System Lab, plus demos that controlled a home’s lights and AC from a web page. Three of those sites still carry my credit.

Nixby Media

After that I started my own company, Nixby Media, in Gorakhpur. We built sites for local clients and ran a summer training programme teaching HTML, CSS, PHP and MySQL. Later came clients in the UK and Australia, a flash-sale tracker app with 10,000+ installs on Google Play, a YouTube channel called Gotham Coding with a full Angular course, and a few open-source PHP libraries.

Now

Since 2021 I’ve worked full-time as a senior full-stack engineer for a US company, remotely, on their publishing platform: the newsroom CMS, Go services and an LLM service that writes automated stories.

After work I build my own products. I write the code, run the servers, and do the SEO and growth work myself, so each one is something I’ve grown from zero:

  • Talentd, a job platform for freshers and engineers in India, with jobs collected from company career pages every day.
  • TalentdPro, entry-level, remote and visa-sponsored jobs in the US.
  • Talentd Hire, where companies post jobs and work through applicants.
  • SEOComet, SEO monitoring software and a Chrome extension.
  • Nixby Media, the company behind them.

Why this site has HackerRank solutions

I took several HackerRank certification tests while preparing for interviews and wrote up the SQL answers in 2022. Those posts ended up helping a lot of students, so I rewrote them in 2026 with every question in each test, tested solutions and proper explanations.
